Equinox Attache tops HyLee Sale (November 2011)
Equinox Attache and Terry Rutledge Congratulations to Susan Walker and Terry Rutledge of TRSW Morgans on the success of Equinox Attache (White Rocks Caliopy x Charlestown Madonna), a 7 year old bay stallion who was purchased from East of Equinox Farm as a yearling. Terry and Susan have successfully campaigned Attache over the past several years, and have now topped the HyLee Sale in Michigan on October 29th. Attache garnered a price more than twice that of the second highest selling horse. Also congratulations to new owner Gwen Nieman of Oklahoma City, and best wishes for continued success with this proven Park Saddle Champion. Equinox Attache is also a proven sire.

East
of Equinox Honored with Top AMHA Award
East of Equinox Farm of Manchester Center, Vermont, recently was inducted into the American Morgan Horse Association's (AMHA) Breeder's Hall of Fame at its annual convention, held in Lexington, Kentucky. This award is given to a breeder who has produced Morgans that have had a significant impact on the breed. Continuing a dynasty birthed by Orrin and Phyllis Beattie, East of Equinox thrives today under the direction of their son, Ivan. Ivan and his siblings were raised on East of Equinox and remain actively involved with Morgans, as is Phyllis, who continues as a partner on the farm. To date, nearly 400 Morgans have been registered with the Equinox prefix, carrying the name to all corners of the United States, as well as Canada, England, Sweden, Germany, Holland, and Australia. Equinox stallions were among the first to stand at stud in Europe via frozen semen and Courage Of Equinox produced the very first Morgan foal conceived by frozen semen in England. Courage Of Equinox is officially the breed's most prolific sire, having produced more registered offspring than any other stallion in the history of the breed. Currently, East of Equinox Farm is home to a herd of 75 Morgans, comprised of broodmares, breeding stallions, and young stock. The farm continues to play a significant role in both the local and national community as Ivan dedicates a significant amount of energy to several equine organizations. A past president of the Vermont Morgan Horse Association and past director of the New England Morgan Horse Association, Ivan has served on a number of committees and boards dedicated to the horse industry. Possessing an appreciation for civic duties, Ivan is chairman of TD Banknorth Vermont, the Manchester Selectboard, and Manchester Water Board, all the while working tirelessly to carry on the East of Equinox legacy. Founded in 1909, AMHA is a non-profit organization serving more than 50,000 Morgan horse owners, breeders, exhibitors, and enthusiasts throughout the United States. AMHA serves as a parent organization to more than 90 recognized Morgan horse clubs and national service organizations. It also provides an important link to foreign Morgan horse registries and clubs.
